A tragic incident has unfolded on Highway 401 in Mississauga, where a collision has claimed the life of a 32-year-old woman from Ottawa. This unfortunate event, reported by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), took place near Dixie Road early on Thursday morning.
According to a statement issued by OPP, emergency responders were alerted to a serious situation at around 6:10 AM, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the eastbound collector lanes. Thankfully, there were no additional injuries reported in connection with this incident, as confirmed by both the OPP and Peel paramedics.
In the wake of the collision, all eastbound collector lanes were initially shut down to facilitate the investigation and ensure the safety of first responders. These lanes reopened by approximately 11:30 AM, as communicated through social media updates from the Ontario Provincial Police.
