Enphase Energy has just started shipping its innovative IQ9N-3P™ Commercial Microinverter across the United States, and this could be a game-changer for the industry. This domestically-produced microinverter is designed specifically to meet the stringent Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) compliance and domestic content requirements, making it a smart choice for commercial solar projects.

The IQ9N-3P is groundbreaking for a couple of key reasons. First, it's Enphase's first microinverter powered by gallium nitride (GaN) technology. But here's where it gets exciting: it supports three-phase 480Y/277 V (wye) grid configurations without needing external transformers. This simplifies system design, potentially slashing installation and balance-of-system costs, and boosting efficiency for high-power commercial solar projects. Imagine the possibilities! Enphase commercial systems use the IQ® Gateway Commercial Pro as a central communication and control hub, offering real-time monitoring, energy management, and advanced grid features like export limiting.

Drew Collom from Quality Solar agrees, stating that U.S. production and domestic content alignment allows for more efficient system designs and helps meet federal sourcing requirements. This means projects can be scaled over time without costly redesigns.

Here’s a crucial detail: The IQ9N-3P microinverters marked with a “DOM” suffix are made with U.S. content, which helps projects comply with the Buy America Act and Build America, Buy America Act. This can also make projects eligible for domestic content bonus tax credits. The IQ9N-3P comes with a 25-year limited warranty, and the IQ Gateway Commercial Pro has a 15-year limited warranty.
